Monday, May 28. 2007Around the Random Garden BlogosphereFrom somewhere East of the US (GB) comes some random garden blogging from Nothing, like something, happens everywhere...
I have never considered myself to be particularly green-fingered. In fact, I would go so far as to say I have a distinct lack of plant-growing skills. As a teenager, I had a cactus garden (I think this was my mother's last ditch effort to get me interested in growing things) which I managed to kill. It's no mean feat to be able to kill cacti, I can tell you. Despite this rather inauspicious background, I have taken advantage of the long weekend to get to grips with my back garden.... I like the idea of growing my own vegetables, and I have enjoyed getting to know my garden despite getting rather badly sun burnt (I know, my own fault - I should have been wearing suncream)... However, I am still not convinced I have it in me to actually grow plants, and I am overwhelmed by the depressing thought that nothing is going to appear. I am haunted by the memory of those poor, dead cacti and I fear I shall never be able to put them to rest. Trackbacks
