Tuesday, November 13. 2007We Get QuestionsQ: Goodmorning Peter
Trying to find out the spieces and how to transplant with out hurting this beauty. Thank you again for your help. Rick & Jen ![]() A: Rick, Your cactus is a Cereus, although I don't know which species without seeing the blooms. As for transplanting, I recommend a terra cotta pot which will breathe better than the plastic, plus a fast-draining soil with lots of pumice. You're going to need some blankets to wrap around the plant, lay it down gently, loosen the plant from the pot, and gently jiggle it out. If any of the branches break off during this process, you can let them dry for a couple weeks and then plant them in fresh soil in their own pot and they'll root. Peter Trackbacks
