Saturday, November 10. 2007We Get Questions about CycadsQ: We just about killed our favorite cycad last year. I am sure we watered it too much over the winter. It finally came back on its own at the end of summer with a few short branches. We have it in the house now. I am still watering it. I understand that it should NOT be watered over the winter. When do I quit watering it and when do I start watering it and how often should I water it.
Thanks, Bonnie G. A: Bonnie, In the house you can water your cycad about once a month in the winter if it is in a bright warm spot, less if it is cool and shady spot, as little as every six or seven weeks between waterings. You can switch to this schedule anytime in November and not start watering it more until March or April. Good Luck, Hap Trackbacks
